Antique lamps of all kinds: the finest antique rarities and collectibles
Antique lamps of different eras are highly demanded as antique rarities and collectibles: Art Deco or Art Nouveau, Tiffany or banker’s lamp. What distinguishes antique lamps from other antique rarities is the fact that they only go back to a certain time. While there are in collectors' circles and antique shops different wooden furniture from the 17th century and earlier, there will be electric antique lamps only from the 19th century, since the first electric light was indeed known to be patented in about 1879 by Thomas Edison. The most common antique rarities of electric lamps thus come from the Arts & Crafts movement, the Art Nouveau and the Art Deco period. Fine antique pieces such as banker’s lamps, Tiffany lamps, electric chandeliers and Art Deco pendant lights were created during this time. All these fine classics - real witnesses of long gone eras - can be found here.

Antique ceiling lights of a special kind: Art Deco hanging lamps
A nice variety of antique ceiling lights can be found, inter alia, in the Art Deco style. Wonderful Art Deco hanging lamps of all kinds usually combine crystal glass and chrome in various ways. From abstract parts to artful cuts in the glass to great coloration in pink, amber, yellow and blue tones, there are many things to be found in the Art Deco hanging lamps section. The chrome usually serves as a holder and visually complements the crystal glass. Often these Art Deco hanging lamps are fitted with frosted glass instead of clear crystal. In turn, this frosted glass is sometimes decorated with colorful speckles or filigree lines and fine patterns. What makes antique Ceiling Lights from the Art Deco period so special is the use of unconventional and special designs and shape which is a typical feature of the Art Deco era. Art Deco style lives from its unusual and special forms and luxurious materials. This can be seen in some Art Deco table lamps and mantel figures particularly well: For example, there are used luminous, crystalline balls as a light source on marble slabs, then there is usually still a beautiful sculpture made of bronze or alabaster, both are stuck on a marble base. So the functional light source becomes a beautiful piece of art while still being functional. And we also find this artistic design in the design of antique ceiling lights.
Real classics: Antique Tiffany lamps and Art Deco banker’s lamps
The eternal classics of the years between the 18th and 19th centuries are the two types of lamps that can be found in many homes, offices and hotels: the Art Deco banker lamp and the antique Tiffany lamp of Art Nouveau style are now world-famous and not only popular among collectors. The Art Deco banker’s lamp, which traditionally consists of a brass base and a green glass shade with a white glaze inside, owes its name mainly to its application. It was used as a desk lamp mainly in courts, libraries, all kinds of offices and also in banks. Today, they are also available in other colors and designs. The corresponding counterpart comes from the Art Nouveau era: the antique Tiffany lamp and her colorful glass shade. Unlike the Art Deco banker lamp, Tiffany lamps are available in a variety of forms: they are available as floor lamps, table lamps, wall lamps and ceiling lamps, and their colors and patterns are of such diversity that there is surely the perfect lamp for everyone and every home.
