English Bureaus
English bureaus are well known English furniture. They developed from the English cabinet and chest of drawers. English bureaus are still to be found today in private homes and there are still many of them built in the style of real antique bureaus from different English periods and eras of history. These newly built pieces are called period furniture because they are built authentically as if they were antique even if they are not. These English bureaus have all the features that we love about antique bureaus except of the vintage effects.
English country bureaus
Here is a nice selection of English country bureaus as well. All of these bureaus are handcrafted from fine solid wood and are therefore unique pieces of English craftsmanship in cottage and country style. These English country bureaus have the typical country features, but differ from piece to piece because there are so many different variations of the style which is known as country and cottage style. They can be made of oak as well as of teak- Some English country bureaus are extra light and friendly while others are dark, heavy and cozy. All of them have their very own different charm and are therefore quite popular nowadays.
English solid wood bureaus offer plenty of storage space
English solid wood bureaus contain many small drawers and pigeonholes in which pens, paper, documents or the like can be stowed. The outward appearance of the English solid wood bureau changed over time. The lower part, which is rather massive, gave way to more and more elegantly designed feet, so that the English solid wood bureaus resemble rather a table rather than a dresser. They are called „bureau on stand“. All of these bureaus have two special things in common: They are high quality pieces made of fine solid wood and they offer plenty of storage space.
