This waring and gillow mahogany extending dining table was made circa 1920.
waring and gillow were a top retailer and makers of fine furniture. having showrooms in multiple up market locations.
this example is one of their oval extending tables, that extends on a patent telescopic winding mechanism, using the crank handle.
the table is made of well selected solid mahogany, and the edge has been gadroon carved all around the outer edge of this lovely table.
it will extend to take 2 leaves to make a comfortable 8 seater but will seat more in a more cosy situation.
the mahogany extending table can be used with the table closed or you can use it with either one leaf in place or both. this makes it a very versatile dining room table.
